There have been a lot of changes in the US retail photo landscape over the last few years. As the overall photo print market has dropped in volume, more retailers have decided to close their in-store photo services. CVS, Walgreens, and Walmart still have photo services in most of its stores, and the retail stores are still getting the majority of photo print volume today. However, the trend has been swinging more toward online ordering of photo prints and products for mail delivery and away from in-store production, which was accelerated by the COVID-19 pandemic.

This report takes a look at the current state of the US Retail Photo Landscape, with estimates for installed base of minilab printers, self-serve printers and kiosks for the overall market as well as for each of the three major retailers (CVS, Walgreens, Walmart). It also provides estimates on market share for each of the equipment types by manufacturer.
